New types of tourism as a reserve for increasing the domestic and inbound tourist flow in the Russian Federation

Modern tourism in the Russian Federation is one of the rapidly developing areas of the economy with a significant impact on the natural, social, cultural and economic environment of destinations. At the same time, the fast growing tourist flow causes the solutions of the problems associated with the lack of modern hotels, quality and availability of roads, a conservative assortment of tourist products offering routes and types of travel created during the Soviet Union. The presence of state hospitals in a particular area, the availability of potential places of recreation or sightseeing routes are the key problems discussed both in scientific publications and in the mass media. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to offer some ways to solve this problem. The authors of the article analyze the reasons that influence the growth of the tourist market, and determine the factors that lead to the containment of the tourist flow in certain destinations. The authors propose to expand significantly the number of Russian and foreign tourists by introducing new, little-used or completely unused and unpopular types of tour products into the range of tourist products on the territory of the Russian Federation, without spending money on the creation of these products that they might need when creating traditional types of tourist products. A number of issues raised in the works of both domestic and foreign researchers confirms the relevance of the research topic [3-9, 11-7]. The study of the experience and stages of development of our own travel agency showed a steady increase in the interest of Russian citizens to travel within their country, and sociological surveys, analytical services revealed insufficient awareness of foreign tourists about the tourist opportunities of our country. Therefore, the authors propose to introduce a new type of travel into the range of tourist products and take measures to expand existing, but insufficiently developed tourist products. The authors give examples of successful foreign practices that show the popularity of the products offered among foreign and Russian tourists. The authors pay considerable attention to the possibilities of unpopular tourist products, suggest ways to solve the expansion of the tourist flow, through the transition from the traditional model of the range of tourist products to the strategic one, from the extensive (development in breadth) to the intensive (development in depth). The issues of expanding the assortment are especially relevant today for Russia, where the flow of tourists follows two key destinations - St. Petersburg and Moscow, so the results of the study can be useful in strategic planning of the development of the tourism sector.
