New challenges and problems in Russian macroeconomic policy in the era of digital technologies

The article formulates the contradiction between the existing approaches to the macroeconomic policy of the Russian Federation and the new realities of the era of digital technologies, shows the manifestations of this contradiction in the current methods and instruments of macroeconomic regulation. We have studied various aspects of macroeconomic policy digitalization, including the introduction of the digital ruble, various digital platforms, online cash registers and electronic document management, identified the problems and new challenges in Russian macroeconomic policy, such as a lack of funding, personnel, legal and technical inputs, as well as uneven development of digital technologies in the country. The duality of the consequences of digitalization is considered as a challenge, when the latest technological developments help to smooth out regional disparities, on the one hand, and there is a risk of increasing digital inequality between regions and territorial entities, on the other hand. In conclusion, we have proposed solutions to the identified problems.
