New Challenges of Regional Crime in the Migration Sphere

The article presents an analysis of current challenges and criminogenic risks in the migration sphere using operational and statistical data from law enforcement agencies, as well as materials of specific criminal cases in the Republic of Buryatia. We have identified the stable correlation between migration violation and commission of significant crimes, including offenses against sexual integrity, life, health, and poaching. Particular attention is paid to identifying the key factors contributing to the increase in crime and systematizing the basic ways of illegal immigration in the region. In conclusion, we have emphasized the need for focused attention from legal community towards the migration situation in the Republic of Buryatia, along with the development of comprehensive preventive measures aimed not only at migrants themselves but also at corruption schemes within government bodies.
