The new variety of spring false flax Kristall

Spring false flax is one of the least requiring to cultivation conditions oil crop. It has a high plasticity that promotes its cultivation in the different soil and climatic conditions. The variety Kristall (breeding number 2935) was developed by a method of individual selection of a sample к-6073 from the world collection of the All-Russia Research Institute of Rapeseed in 2013-2016. Due to the results of testing in 2015-2016, the variety Kristall exceeded the standard variety VNIIMK 520 on seed yield by 0.25 t per ha and oil content in seeds by 2.2%. In ecological testing of the perspective varietal samples of spring false flax, the new variety Kristall showed the maximal yield of seed in three cultivation areas: the All-Russia research institute of oil crops by Pustovoit V.S. (Krasnodar), the Don experimental station (Rostov region), and the Siberian experimental station (Omsk region) - 1.42 t per ha. Thus, biological features of spring false flax, its resistance to stress factors of environments, ecological plasticity allows stating that this crop is promising for production in changing weather conditions and can take its place in the domestic market of oil seeds. And the new spring false flax variety Kristall provides obtaining of high and stable seed yields.
