Endogenic platinoid manifestations in chromite-bearing ultrabasites of the Paleozoic ophiolite association have been well known in the Polar Urals for a long time. Recently discovered low-sulphide Au-Pt shows are confined to the wherlite-clinopyroxenite massif which can not be re-garded as ophiolitic according to its geological structure, chemical composition of rocks and rock-forming minerals. This is a fragment either of a sheeted intrusive or of the ultramafite com-plex of the dunite-pyroxenite-gabbro (Pt-bearing) association. The precious metal mineralization is confined to olivine clinopyroxenes. Natural Au, Ag, and Pt formations, intermetallids of Au, Ag, and platinoids, arsenides, tellurides, antimonides, and Pt-Pb bismuthides have been re-vealed.
