On the merits and demerits of the students’ knowledge assessment in the form of the tests in the subject «Mathematics»

The growth of opportunities of new information technologies usage in education stipulated the shift of many institutes of higher education to the test system of knowledge assessment. The article gives a comparative analysis between the traditional and test systems of the knowledge check, the merits and demerits of testing in Higher Mathematics of the students of technical schools of higher education. The major problems of the test system of knowledge check have been considered. Some ways to solve these problems have been offered.
