The relevance of the article is determined by the fact that scientific and technological development of all sectors of the economy is determined by the level of technology development, the achieved level of development of professional competencies of specialists engaged in production and business. In the composition of professional competencies, the authors highlight technological competencies that are cultivated during training in technical univer-sities, integrated in various forms with business and production: scientific-educational clusters and centers, as well as information and consulting centers. One of the forms may be information and consulting centers created in universities with full scientific, methodological and logistical support at the expense of firms. The training process is organized by the university in terms of practices with a final test and the issuance of a certificate upon completion. The process of training engineering personnel includes a variety of teaching tools that form an educational environment that has a professional focus and constitutes a space for the creative development (self-development) of students. Such a space is formed by information and consulting centers of a technical university, promoting interdisciplinary training. Improving the quality of training can be achieved by creating scientific and educational centers in technical universities that per-form training, research, educational and socializing functions. To achieve this goal, teachers need to know the peda-gogical potential of centers that, as a rule, do not have psychological and pedagogical training. Undoubtedly, these centers have “pedagogical potential”. To develop technological competencies for the performance of industrial activi-ties of builders, it is necessary to determine their component composition, features and readiness of graduates to master modern construction technologies. The aim of the study: to reveal the characteristics and structure of techno-logical competencies developed in students of a technical university.
