On conventional differences in the design of the etiquette framework of a business letter in the context of the tasks of multilingual education in non-linguistic universities

The article is devoted to the issues of conventional differences in the design of the etiquette frame of a business letter in the context of the tasks of multilingual education in non-linguistic universities. The relevance of addressing this topic is associated with the need to improve the professional competence of students of non-linguistic universities in the field of written business communication and establishing business contacts, as well as with the need to optimize educational methods under conditions of polyglossia of modern non-linguistic universities and with a shortage of academic hours allocated for learning foreign languages, and the creation of teaching aids for multilingual education. Noting the social nature of a business message and the fact of its subordination to social forms and rules regarding the content, general tone of the letter and its form, the author focuses on the etiquette frame of a business letter as one of the most important features of its design. The author points out the differences in the forms of address, greetings and closing phrases in business writing in Russian, German and English cultures, linking the conventional differences in the design of the etiquette framework of a business letter with the historically established socio-cultural characteristics and social norms of the named linguacultural communities.
