The article analyzes the accusations of V. Solovyov against the concept of cultural and historical types of N. Danilevsky. The dishonesty of V. Solovyov’s methods of polemics based on substitution of concepts and gross distortion of N. Danilevsky’s ideas is shown. It is shown that V. Solovyov often uses argumentation, which is now firmly established in the everyday life of Russophobic propaganda. In turn, N. Danilevsky developed the general idea of the Slavophiles about the world-historical mission of Russia, for the first time giving it a scientific and historiosophical justification. The subsequent course of history up to the present time has confirmed the correctness of N. Danilevsky both at the empirical level (the hybrid war of the West against Russia) and in the scientific world, where since the twentieth century various theories of cultural and historical types have become the basis of historisophical thinking.
