The article studies the novel principles of the domestic relations and civil laws in force, regulating wardship and guardianship of children deprived of parental care. The author pays special attention to the issue of definition of the legal status of the guardianship and custody agreement (foster family agreement), which has been remaining one of the most debatable in the national doctrine for a long time.
