The article is a review of the scholarly monograph by Charles Taliaferro and Chad Meister Modern Philosophical Theology (2016). Philosophical theology is a relatively young science that belongs to the family of rational-theological disciplines. In this regard, the article first gives a definition of the specified theological discourse, defines the tasks, the subject field and the difference between philosophical theology and other related rational theologies, mainly from fundamental theology. Further, the author analyzes the understanding of modern philosophical theology proposed by the authors of the monograph, according to which this field should adapt in order to meet the requirements of tolerance and political correctness. The conclusion is made about the inconsistency of the implementation of such an approach for theological disciplines, even if it is philosophical in its method.
