The proposed text contains an exposition of the main content of a number of articles by G. A. Ostrogorsky on theological and church-historical topics. The presentation is accompanied by critical remarks about certain provisions in the concepts of the largest Byzantine scholar of the twentieth century and a rethinking of some aspects in revealing, as a rule, the key issues of Byzantine religious and political culture. The well-chosen theological and church-historical material in the research of G. A. Ostrogorsky in itself disposes to additional reading, and sometimes requires it.
