On the realisation of the "topic - commentary" structure in a polycode text

The article tackles the questions of similarity between grammatical relations in a verbal text and a poly-code text, which contains graphical elements as well as verbal. Popular media-texts as 'meme ' and 'demoti-vator' are taken as the material of the study. In these texts the structure of the relations between the elements is very much alike the "topic - commentary " structure in bi-component utterances. A particular variant of the realization of this structure (to some extent alike the usage of unicomponent utterances) is seen when some types of polycode texts are used in media-communication.
