About recurrence of the disease and quality of life after abdominal wall hernia surgery with the use of biologically active suture material

We analyzed the frequency recurrence of the disease and quality of life (by the method the SF-36) in 197 patients after addominal wall hernia surgery with the plastic hernial own fabrics and mesh endoprosthesis. In 86 patients (study group), the operation was carried with the use of active (antimicrobial), surgical sutures, at 111 (control group) - with using the ordinary, biologically inert fibers. Found that the use of the active suture leads to a reduction in the number of hernia recurrence and to improve the quality of life of the operated patients.
