On the role of sociocultural factors in the semantic development of adjectives in the Russian language

In this article sociocultural conditionality of specific semantic development of adjectives in the Russian language is revealed. Word semantics development is examined on the basis of language units, from ancient syncretism of a name (as initial stage of semantic process) to polysemy (as intermediate stage of the history of the words) and derivation (as natural stage in the development of semantics as a result of ancient syncretism désintégration).
