On theoretical methods in pedagogical research (on the example of a departmental university)

The article briefly describes the theoretical methods used in the pedagogical research devoted to the problem of improving the effectiveness of professional training of cadets of one of the universities subordinate to the law enforcement agencies of Russia. Such methods, first of all, should include the survey methods and the method of generalization of independent characteristics. The information received about the cadets from the heads of the courses and platoon commanders was enriched and supplemented with opinions about them from the teachers of the departments, colleagues. Actively used theoretical research methods in combination with empirical ones allowed the author to collect a sufficient information base on the problem of improving the professional training of cadets of a specialized university and qualitatively solve problems to improve its effectiveness.
