The contents of oxide nitrogen stable metabolites (NOι)and S-nitrosothiols (RSNO) in blood plasma at calves of the Simmental breed during early postnatal adaptation and at cows in blood plasma and amniotic fluid have been investigated. The possible biological role and importance of interaction of systems of NOι generation and deposition to providing the adaptive reactions of newborn to new conditions of existence are discussed. It has been shown, that the first day after birth was characterized by the great level of stable metabolites of NOι, which is formed during prenatal development, and insignificant levels of RSNO in blood plasma. The negative correlation has been established between these parameters, which indicate on formation of NOι pool in form of S-nitrosothiols at period of postnatal adaptation. At the end of the first month of life the contents both NOι and RSNO became comparable to values, typical for adult animal.
