The article gives a detailed comparison of the sermons and speeches of Dean of Westminster Abbey, Bishop Arthur P. Stanley (1815-1881) published in the weekly "Citizen". Their content was reflected in a number of episodes of Dostoyevsky's novel The Brothers Karamazov, which suggests an obvious connection between the image of the elder Zosima and Dean Stanley.
