The assessment features of diesel technical state based on the vibration signals analysis

The article deals with the application features of vibroacoustic diagnostics methods to assess in-place the technical condition of diesel engines when used for their intended purpose. Terms of determining informative diagnostic parameters of diesel engine’s vibration signals and their preparation for the digital processing are identified. Recommendations for calculating the measuring equipment characteristics and operation of diesel engines during vibration signals record are given. The digital vibration signals processing method of the diesel engine taking into account its design and kinematic features is proved. The Fourier transform methods, methods of coherent summation, averaging, frequency filtration and phase gating are used. A problem solving technique of estimating the accuracy of the diesel vibration signal’s spectral power density is shown in the paper and an example of how to do it is given. The parameters estimation of the diesel working process by vibroacoustic method is carried out.
