The article deals with issues related to exemption from criminal liability in cases of crimes in the sphere of economic activity. The author comes to the conclusion that the General basis for releasing a person from criminal liability is the inexpediency of bringing him to justice and applying compulsory measures of criminal law influence to him. The release of a person from criminal liability is a result of an assessment of the criminal act and a number of legally significant circumstances associated with its Commission, the identity of the perpetrator and his behavior before or after the Commission of the crime
