The Article is devoted to some issues of criminal prosecution for violent crimes against a family member, which make up 30-40% of all violent crimes. At the same time, 70% of all victims of violent attacks committed in the family are women and children. Given this circumstance, the Russian legislator has identified in the modern criminal code a special Chapter 20, the rules of which are devoted to the protection of the interests of the family and minors. However, a more detailed analysis of the provisions of the law shows that the range of such norms is much wider - other crimes located in other chapters of the criminal code can also be committed against family members, and then the family interests will be an additional direct object in them. In particular, these are crimes for which liability is provided by articles 105, 107, 108, 109, 113, 114, 115, 117, 118, 119, 127, 131, 132, 240 etc.
