Educational facilities in the system of social infrastructure of rural territories of the Republic of Kalmykia

The paper discusses the importance of social infrastructure, its role in the quality of life of the population, lists its main objects. The purpose of this work is to analyze the social infrastructure in the field of education in rural areas of the republic. The main part of the work is based on the statistical data review that allow us to judge the coverage of educational services in the region. The analysis showed that in recent years, the number of preschool educational institutions have been increased and their enrolment is positive. However, in rural areas, as for these indicators, they do not demonstrate particular changes; moreover, in some cases educational institutions of the region are reduced in the absence of students. The results obtained, in our opinion, indicate the outflow of population from rural settlements or the “aging” of rural areas.
