Ensuring the safety of passenger traffic by bodies of the state traffic inspectorate by monitoring and supervising the technical condition of vehicles

The article discusses the problems of ensuring the safety of passenger traffic in the framework of the control and supervision activities of the State traffic inspectorate. The author substantiates that the directions of the control and supervisory activity of the State traffic inspectorate vary significantly depending on the category ofsupervised entities. The characteristic of the maincontrol and supervision measures carried out during inspections of entities engaged in passenger transportation is given. The modern legislative initiatives in the field of expanding the powers of the State traffic inspectorate in terms of monitoring the technical condition of vehicles are analyzed, a conclusion is drawn on the directions for further improvement of the legal regulation of ensuring passenger traffic safety.
