DC machine lightweight design for aircraft

Background. One of the main requirements for aviation electrical machines, is the requirement to reduce the weight and size characteristics. Therefore, the search for ways to reduce the weight of electrical machines is an urgent task. Materials and methods. The work was based on the results of a finite-element simulation of a magnetic field embedded in a chain model of the dynamic regims of the DC machine. Optimization of the design of the machine was carried out using genetic algorithms. Results. A high-speed field dynamic model of a DC machine has been developed, which allows to take into account the influence on the dynamics of a machine by the features of its design. In the course of optimization on the model of the magnetic field, a version of the machine was obtained, which makes it possible to obtain substantial savings of active materials and to reduce the weight and size parameters. Conclusions. The results can be used in the design and manufacture of aircraft DC machines.
