The rationale for some parameters of separator rotor of potato machine

Mechanical damage of tubers is one of the reasons hindering the growth of mechanization level of potatoes harvesting. The purpose of this work is to prove the separate parameters of a rotor separator of the potato-harvesting machine, providing a minimum of damage to tubers at harvest. In the conditions of the Irkutsk region, it is preferable to use rotary separators. In operation of the separator, there is a blow of the tubers on the surface of the separator, which can cause damage to the potatoes. The actual time of blow is equal to 0,06 s. The part of the kinetic energy of the tuber is converted to the potential energy of the rotor deformation. The most rational parameters of the separator are the inclination of the separating surfaces 15-20° with the length of separating surface 1100 mm, which corresponds to six shafts.
