Statement of the problem. The rejection of socialist ideology in the crucial 1990s for Russia contributed to the value reorientation of society, which was reflected in the work of the authors of this period. The turn towards the pre-revolutionary literary tradition, the search for axiological constants there, which had been outlined earlier in Soviet literature, led to the actualization of traditional images, in particular, the image of a house, directly related to the motives of continuity, preservation of historical memory, and family. The purpose of the article is to analyze the representation of the image of the house in V. Aksenov’s reflective novel The Moscow Saga. A review of the scientific literature on the problem. The works of N.V. Kovtun, O.A. Bogdanova, V.G. Andreeva, M.V. Skorokhodova, E.E. Dmitrieva are devoted to understanding the image of a house, a noble manor, a peasant dwelling. The research examines the typological features of various toposes united by a common function. Methodology. The structural and typological method, the method of descriptive poetics, and mythopoetic analysis are used. Research results. The article analyzes the central locus of the trilogy - the dacha of the Gradov family in Serebryany Bor. During the analysis, typological similarities with the topos of the noble estate were revealed, which emphasizes the genre originality of the novel - family chronicle. However, the spaces of a country house and a noble estate are not equivalent, having different purposes, they have a common feature - only there, continuity, procreation, family business, and traditions are possible. In addition, in the novel, the image of a country house is contrasted with images of an apartment /room marked as temporary, unstable, and not of the future.
