The article is devoted to analyzed the image of the artist Paul Cezanne in the essay of the same name by Roger Fry, which is a retelling of Vollard's earlier work on Cezanne. Recognizing the importance of Vollard for Cezanne as Vasari for Renaissance artists, Fry creates the emotional world of the artist. He describes some of his canvases in terms of form, not color.
