The image of the People’s Republic of China in the artistic space of the story “Chin-chun, or author’s glory” by O.I. Senkovsky

Among the Russian writers of the XIXth century who showed the interest in the People’s Republic of China, O.I. Senkovsky occupies a special place. It is devoted to the study of image of the People’s Republic of China in his story “Chin-Chun, or the author’s glory.” In order to understand the author’s interpretations and artistic means, the article uses the various methods of literary analysis, including the cultural and historical one. O.I. Senkovsky, as an orientalist, ironizes the stereotypical perception of the People’s Republic of China by his contemporaries, but the writer’s theme of the created satirical pamphlet by him comes to the theme of the creative work.
