The image of the Russian knyaz in the epic text: analysis of nominative formulas

Statement of the problem. The author considers nominative constructions of Russian epics in this work. It is obvious that the oral epic tradition and the traditions of the chronicle text are based not only on various ideological principles, but also on various layers of the past, namely, epic texts are addressed to the more ancient layers. The purpose of the article is to analyze typical nominative formulas (nominations and attributes) representing the image of a knyaz (prince) in epic texts. Research materials are publications of epics from the collection of Kirsha Danilov and from the collection of S.I. Gulyaev (Altai). The methodology of the analysis is based on the identification of the means of knyaz nomination in the text. Research results. Nominations and attributes are typical nominative formulas for representing the image of a knyaz in epic texts. Compound names consisting of several elements are used: Knyaz Vladimir, affectionate Knyaz Vladimir, etc. The author comes to the conclusion that knyaz is active inside his own space, which is essentially sacred.
