The role of peer’s image in the development of younger pupils’ self conception is analyzed in the article. The usage of peer’s image as a model for self comparing with a peer is considered. The peculiarities and possibilities of self comparison with ideal and real peers are presented. Typical difficulties of analyzing peer’s image and self comparing with him for younger pupils are described. The results of experimental study directed to the development of younger students’ self-actualization are introduced. The peculiarities of organizing gradual junior pupils’ development on the basis of comparison with the image of an ideal peer and the image of a real peer are analyzed. The necessity of gradual sequencing in the development of younger students’ selfactualization is proved.
