The article reveals the main sources of aerobic and anaerobic types of energy supply for muscle activity when adapting to physical activity. The significance of maximum oxygen consumption during endurance exercise and assessment of work power is presented. Characterization of homeostasis shifts after exercise of different power is given. According to the indicators of lactic acid concentration, a comparative assessment of the effect of competitive exercise on the body of young runners of middle and stayers is given, indicating adaptation to the specifics of physical activity.
