General and Special in the Legal Regulation of Maternity: Prospects for Women’s Social Security

In this article, the author attempts to examine the prospects and justify the need for a social security system related to motherhood, based on the legal science concept of the universality of social security, as well as the unity and differentiation within the industry. Motherhood is also considered as a basis for social security and in the context of the discussion on social alimony. The author suggests that motherhood has both general and specific characteristics, each of which can serve as a target for social security. Based on the above, the author proposes an approach to social security in connection with motherhood, characterized by universal coverage of female mothers due to the common features of motherhood and differentiated coverage based on the relevant specifics that have emerged in a woman’s life.
