Considered the problems of communication with peers of orphans, differing by level of deprivation. Established crucial of communication as a factor of formation of personality. Mental deprivation seen as unmet needs resulting from distancing people from relevant sources to meet them, first of all - in families, and leading to the destruction of the emotional bonds of orphans with their surrounding social environment. Identified criteria for diagnosing mental level of deprivation in terms of psychomotor development. The results of comparative empirical studies of the communication with peers in orphans with different levels of deprivation and preschool children who are brought up in families.
