The article emphasizes the importance of social and cultural activity of public associations of scientists, which are a kind of intellectual elite structures that can significantly affect the qualitative characteristics of the cultural environment, as well as the nature of its perception by other social actors. The most common areas of their activities are scientific and educational, expert consulting, information and educational, cultural and leisure, charitable, etc. The presence of scientific organizations, higher educational institutions, public associations of scientists and teachers in the city, region, and country creates organizational and pedagogical conditions for increasing the intellectual and creative potential of the cultural environment of the corresponding territory. Providing resource support to public associations of scientists contributes to improving the quality of the cultural environment.
