The article deals with the question of commonality of Finno-Ugric literatures. The complexity of this issue consists in the fact that there is no unified option on the problem of existence of «Finno-Ugric literary criticism» as a complex branch of science uniting all nations (as it is with Slavonic, Romance, Turkic and others). It is explained, on the one hand, by the reason that literatures and literary criticism of most FinnoUgric nations have been investigated for a relatively short period of time. On the other hand, Finno-Ugric linguistics has been treated up to recent times mainly as a purely linguistic discipline.
