The variables of conjugality and parenting, according to Linares (2010), have a strong influence on the family relational environment, affecting both the personality and mental health of children and parents. However, when lack of love appears between parents and an inability to resolve conflicts arises, in many cases, separation or divorce occurs. The main objective of this work has been to learn about the aspects of the paternal function that come into play in the obstruction of the paternal-child bond. These new parents do not accept the historical role of providers that separates them from the emotional world of their children, and they are not willing to put aside their emotions and feelings, placing their children at the center of their lives, and they are the ones who complete them and give meaning to their existence, and faced with the impediment of being able to fulfill their parental function, negative and maladaptive emotions become present in their lives, developing the so-called Destroyed Father Syndrome.
