Teaching official style of speaking for foreign students (the case of an official law school)

The problem of studying styles of speaking in the Russian language by foreign students is analyzed. The practice and analysis of modern pedagogical publications showed that the greatest difficulty is mastering the scientific and official styles. The results of an ascertaining test are presented, revealing the peculiarities of understanding by foreign students of the Siberian Law Institute of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation of the specifics of the official style of speaking. It is revealed that the students of the training courses for foreign specialists know the genres of the official business style and they have difficulties in determining the stylistic affiliation of texts. Based on the analysis of psychological, pedagogical, linguistic, methodological literature, the results of the ascertaining test, tasks that involve determining the stylistic affiliation of texts, establishing a correspondence between genres and functional styles, editing documents have been developed. The tasks are intended for use in the educational process when organizing collective and independent work of students of training courses for students studying the discipline “Russian language and speech culture”.
