The system for training translators needs to be reformed and innovated. The main prerequisites for reforming the system are the New Humanities Project, implemented since 2019, and the social demand of Chinese society for highly qualified professional translators. The need for young gifted translators became especially acute in the process of introducing the concept of reforming the teaching of the Russian language and developing educational programs in the Russian language in China. Therefore, innovative development of both educational programs and methods of teaching translation is necessary. The article aims to develop a model for training translators from Chinese into Russian and from Russian into Chinese based on the trends of the new humanities’ development. The author presents the methods of reforming the system of translators’ training based on the analysis of the current situation. The article describes the author's model of teaching translators that comes from the concept of reforming the teaching of the Russian language. The model constitutes a set of pedagogical conditions that enable to solve the identified problems: improving the content quality of translation courses; considering ideological and political guidelines in teaching translation; introducing educational innovations in the model of teaching translation from Chinese into Russian and from Russian into Chinese. The pedagogical conditions offered can contribute to raising the level of teaching translation in the country.
