Shooting is an important component of biathlon, and it has a high impact on the final result of the competition. The results of the performances of highly qualified athletes in competitions show that with a slight difference in speed and time spent at firing lines, the final result determines the accuracy of shooting. Shooting can be carried out in different positions - lying, sitting, standing. Depending on the manufacture, a completely different technique is needed, according to which the athlete's training will be held. The article sets the task of forming material that will help in training biathletes in shooting from a standing position at the most important stage of sports training - the initial one. This will exclude the formation of “negative” habits in athletes with improper training, which will involve additional athlete power. The article describes in stages the most effective set of measures that will create favorable conditions for the biathlete and affect the entire spectrum of factors influencing the result, from the position of the skis and legs to the body and the interception of small arms. The most important place in the article is devoted to balancing and the degree of tension, and also the main errors and ways to solve them are considered.
