Innovative developments improving technical support of the agro-industrial complex play important role in increasing efficiency of its functioning. Research on diagnostics of agricultural machinery, including tractors and automobiles, contributes to the topic. Diagnostics of technical condition of these machines and, accordingly, elimination of detected faults has significant impact on their operation, including safety. The technical diagnostic tools currently used are diverse and include both traditional methods and modern digital technologies. However, despite the availability of various diagnostic tools, there are a number of problems related to their efficiency, accuracy and ease of use. In the context of rapid technological development and increasing complexity of automotive and tractor equipment designs, it is necessary not only to analyze existing diagnostic tools, but also to develop new, more effective approaches that will improve the quality of diagnostics and, consequently, increase the service life of equipment. The conducted review and analysis are the basis for development of more advanced diagnostic methods for automotive and tractor equipment.
