The incidence of malignant neoplasms in Russia has a steady upward trend. Among the causes of death, malignant neoplasms take the second place, and their share only grows every year. More than a quarter of all newly diagnosed malignant neoplasms are localized in the abdominal cavity and small pelvis. The course of these malignant neoplasms can often include peritoneal carcinomatosis. The development of this condition is associated with an unfavorable course of the disease. The combination of surgical treatment in the amount of full / optimal cytoreduction and systemic chemotherapy is standard, but cannot provide high rates of survival. This article focuses on a promising treatment method - intraperitoneal chemotherapy in its various variations. When carrying out this technique, drugs are injected directly into the abdominal cavity.
