Overview of the main characteristics of modern Uruguayan colloquial speech

The article addresses the phonetic, grammatical, lexical and syntactic features of the colloquial and everyday speech of Uruguayans. Based on the analysis, the author concludes that the colloquial and everyday speech of Uruguayans is marked by both interlanguage and inter-variant national and cultural specifics and requires more detailed study.
