The paper presents an assessment of the physiological status and the level of current adaptation of first-year students at the initial stage of training of the medical college of the National Research University "BelSU" on the basis of somatometric and physiometric indicators. The inclusion of school graduates in the process of secondary vocational education is associated with the emergence of new requirements of the learning environment for the psycho-functional status of a first-year student, which directly depend on his ability to adapt to new conditions without deterioration of self-esteem and health. The transition of schoolchildren to the status of students is associated with a change in social conditions of life and their inclusion in a different form of organization of educational activities with the need to manifest independence, to which many of them are not adapted.
