This article presents the results of testing a specific immunomodulator of microbial origin (KIM-M2), which production technology has been developed to regulate and restore the protective functions in diseases and the impact of destabilizing factors of the environment. There were presented the results of the comparative as- sessment of protective properties of KIM-M2 and BCG vaccine, immunotherapeutic properties of immunomodu- lator, protective properties depending on the frequency of its introduction to laboratory animals, and the results of the tests of KIM-M2 in cattle in agricultural enterprises, unfavourable for mycobacteriosis (paraallergic reac- tions). These studies revealed the high level of protection in guinea pigs immunized with KIM-M2 which is 70%, similar to the level in animals immunized with BCG vaccine, at that after the introduction of KIM-M2 an allergic reaction to PPD-tuberculin for mammals did not develop. It is shown that double and triple introduction of the preparation with a short intervals between injections slows the development of the immune response and the formation of antituberculosis immunity in guinea pigs, and the immunization of KIM-M2 do not affect the level of the skin allergic reaction at subsequent infection of guinea pigs with virulent mycobacteria strain. There was noted that in the guinea pigs, sensitized with KIM-M2, after 14 days of infection, the pathological changes of tubercular character have been revealed in the study of immunotherapeutic properties, at the same time in the animals immunized at 21 and 28 hours after infection, the degree of organ damage was significantly lower than in the control ones. The use of the preparation on cattle in agricultural enterprises contributed to prevention of paraallergic reactions to introduction of PPD-tuberculin for mammals. This optimal scheme envisages the im- munization of young animals beginning from the 10th to the 20th day of their lives twice a year with interval of 6 months and immunization of cows once a year. Thus, the complex immunomodulator of microbial origin has protective and healing properties.
