Estimate of effectiveness of complex psycho-correction programme of convicts' support before release

One of the most crucial components of the system of resocialization is psychological rehabilitation. The example of such work is the established Centre of social and psychological rehabilitation and support of convicts before release from one of the colonies of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service in the Lipetsk region. There is a unit where they created household conditions for convicts different from other units and changed frequency, intensity and level of the officers' influence on the convicts, where the convict's personality and his private problems are in the focus. Due to the theoretical aspects of resocialization and problems of convicts' rehabilitation the officers developed a Complex psycho-correction programme. The opportunity to estimate the efficiency of the Programme appeared two years after opening the Centre when the Programme had been implemented and the first convicts had been released. The study of significance of changes of convict's personality included two stages and was carried out with two groups - experimental and control - and with those who had already left the penitentiary facility. It is necessary to note that external changes and changes in behaviour of the convicts who have been trained according to the Programme are witnessed by all the personnel at the penitentiary facility, which indirectly proves the convicts' successful comprehension of psychological training.
