Benign prostatic hyperplasia is one of the fundamental reasons for the overactive bladder. Unintentional detrusor contractions are observed in 40-60% of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Irritation symptoms (overactive bladder symptoms) in case of benign prostatic hyperplasia influence the quality of life more, compared to obstruction symptoms. Overactive bladder treatment at benign prostatic hyperplasia is started with application of ƒ adreno blockers, with their insufficient efficiency М choline blockers are added. Drug combination of these two groups provides the maximum therapeutic effect concerning overactive bladder. The major morphological specifics of the detrusor at overactive bladder with benign prostatic hyperplasia are the increase of sclerosis area and alterations in leyomyocyte construction.
