Evaluation of the effectiveness of herbicides taking into account environmental consequences

This article examines the role of herbicides in agriculture as a means of controlling weeds, their classification into contact and systemic preparations, as well as the impact of weeds on agrocenosis and the economy of agriculture. It analyzes the impact of herbicide use on crop yields and quality, issues of biological efficiency, methods of monitoring weed infestation and identifying phytotoxicity, as well as the environmental and socio-legal aspects of pesticide use, including risks to human health and the environment, precautions, and occupational safety requirements. The article provides data from field trials, regional examples of application, and modern approaches to minimizing risk through an integrated crop protection system and the selection of safe herbicide usage modes.
