Estimation of the written translation quality (on a material of transfers of the Chinese political journalisms into Russian)

On the basis of the analysis of typical errors in translations of Chinese political publications into Russian which were carried out by students of final years of a specialty «Region studies»; the author of the article allocates typical cases of infringement of translational norms and criteria of their estimation. The lexical and grammatical errors are the most regular in texts of translations, and the understanding of the general situation facilitates decoding of the information; misunderstanding of the general context the transfer text can't meet the general requirements of adequacy and equivalence which are central for translation quality estimation. For estimation of the text of translation the author offers the system of criteria, based on the volume of translated text for the established time interval and understanding of the general situation. Typical cases of infringement of translational norms are also given in the article.
