For six years (2011-2016) we studied five varieties and a hybrid of sunflower Helianthus annuus L. in conditions of the southern forest-steppe of the Western Siberia. We determined designating impact of a genotype on seed size (85.44%), duration of vegetative period (76.29%), plant height (68.88%) and oil content (65.49%) in a total share of phenotypic variability. The limiting factors at formation of seed and oil yield capacity year conditions (46.69 and 48.64%, respectively) with a important relation between factors ‘year' × ‘variety sample' (27.75 and 26.62%). In our research conditions we stated vegetative period of varieties depended on water supply in July, September and in whole a period from May to September, plant height depended on water supply in July, 1000 seeds weight and oil content - on August. The future seed and oil yield capacity depended on water supply in June. Breeding for seed yield increase is closely related to increase in oil yield (r = 0.920), 1000 seeds weight (r = 0...
