Numerous clinical and epidemiological studies have established that an increase in the level of atherogenic lipids and lipoproteins in the blood is one of the main risk factors for atherosclerosis and ischemic heart disease. In this regard, the study of lipid metabolism has an exceptional diagnostic value in assessing the risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease in patients of different age groups, including during medical examinations. In the present study, the lipid profile of patients undergoing medical examination was analyzed in comparison with the lipid metabolism of patients with ischemic heart disease, depending on gender and age. The research materials indicate the possibility of using a group of patients undergoing medical examination, who do not have a history of cardiovascular diseases, as a comparison group.
